About Michael

Michael Koch, consulting director at Vizient, brings extensive knowledge around Medicare and Medicaid accountable care organization (ACO) models and their associated quality programs. Before joining Vizient, Koch spent more than seven years working at North Memorial Health leading their Medicare and Medicaid ACO programs, as well as other value-based care related initiatives. In this role, he built strong partnerships with primary care operations leaders and local community organizations to implement care improvement initiatives focused on reducing the cost of care and improving the health of attributed patient lives. Koch also served as a subject matter expert on value-based care quality metrics and payer claims integration efforts. He earned his master’s degree in healthcare administration and his bachelor’s degree in public health and management from the University of Minnesota Twin Cities. During his time at the University of Minnesota, he had opportunities to do project work for Allina Health and CentraCare.
