About Kenny
As managing director of the consulting and advisory firm Kaufman Hall, a Vizient company, Kenny O’Neill leads the firm’s payer service line and advises healthcare organizations on strategies to drive growth and transformation, improve performance and strengthen market position. A broad healthcare strategist with deep payer and provider expertise, he works across the healthcare continuum to help organizations address complex strategic challenges and capitalize on opportunities in an evolving industry.
Kenny partners with boards and executive teams to develop and execute enterprise, service line and consumer growth strategies, transform operating and care models, and improving clinical and financial performance. He brings considerable expertise in payer strategy, including helping organizations develop clinical models that improve affordability and member outcomes, as well as extensive experience with health systems on enterprise growth, market expansion and service line strategy. His experience also includes digital health, artificial intelligence and the development of integrated care models.
With 20 years of global consulting experience, Kenny brings a broad perspective shaped by advising some of the largest Fortune 50 healthcare organizations in the United States and working across healthcare markets internationally. He has led large-scale strategy and transformation initiatives for payers, nonprofit and academic health systems and other healthcare organizations. He has also developed healthcare thought leadership and methodologies in strategy, digital transformation, healthcare ecosystems, strategic partnerships and value management.
Prior to joining Kaufman Hall, Kenny was a leader at KPMG and EY, at KPMG he served on the U.S. consulting leadership team as chief operating officer for a practice of more than 900 professionals spanning healthcare, customer and state government sectors. He also served on KPMG’s and EYs Global Healthcare Board.
Earlier in his career, before entering consulting, Kenny served for eight years as a pilot in the Royal Air Force. Kenny holds a bachelor of science from the University of Glasgow.
