Josh Aaker, PhD
Associate Principal, Intelligence
As a key member of the Vizient Intelligence team, Aaker leads cardiovascular thought leadership by analyzing the impact of emerging trends, technologies and clinical advancements on care delivery. In addition to his national perspective, he provides direct support to clients through custom intelligence and on-site engagements, helping organizations navigate complex challenges and uncover strategic growth opportunities in cardiovascular care.
Prior to joining Vizient, Aaker earned a PhD in neurobiology from the University of Chicago, where he studied the application of data analytics in understanding how oligodendrocytes function. In his graduate research, he leveraged genomics technologies to identify novel proteins involved in development to provide tools for the study of multiple sclerosis. He previously earned a B.A. in neurobiology from Macalester College and is a member of its local alumni association.
Aaker has published his work in several international scientific journals and has also presented at numerous national and international conferences.
